STOTT Pilates Instructor
Beginning at a young age, Maggie had an interest in health, nutrition, and fitness. Immediately out of high school in 1998 she began exploring. Maggie began studying and practicing all kinds of health modalities. Since 2002, she has trained and been certified in Shiatsu, Yoga, Massage, Reiki, Breath work and Pilates. As well she holds a B.A. in Spanish and minor in Environmental Studies from Western Washington University graduating in 2004. Maggie’s yoga studies began with 3 years of Iyengar training, focusing in depth on proper alignment. This continued with 3 years of studying Astanga , this a more powerful flow style. Both of which are traditional lineages from Indi). Her personal style is a mixture of these two put together along with a touch of creative innovation.
Maggie completed her Stott Pilates Mat course in May of 2008 and is currently teaching at Body In Balanced. Her passion is in the health field, as she continuously strives to learn, practice and teach the optimal methods for improving health and wellness. Maggie has taught yoga on Maui since 2005 and is very excited to be teaching Pilates in addition. She believes Pilates is an excellent and powerful foundation for any solid physical exercise program whether an individual’s goals are for maintenance of health, restoring health, losing weight or refining physical abilities. |
